Riding Lessons build confidence, enhance your knowledge base, improve your technique, and are lots of fun! Lessons are available for beginners through advanced level riders. Training includes approach and forming a union, safety & handling, horse care & grooming, saddling & ride preparation, mounting & dismounting, reining techniques, hand, leg & voice commands, posture, exercises, and advanced Horsemanship training.

Congratulations! You have just taken your first step in improving your Riding Technique, building your confidence level around Horses, or just plain having fun Horseback Riding! Here at Washington Riding Stables, you’ll find that we take pride in teaching our students and we know that it’s all about having fun— don’t you agree?

Due to space limitations, our program is structured to begin Riding Lessons for those ages 10+. When space permits we will accommodate 8 & 9 year-olds for Riding Lessons on a private one-on-one basis. Lessons are held on Saturday & Sunday mornings at 8am, 9am, 10am, & 11am. If you’re interested in scheduling a Riding Lesson for a candidate under age 10, please call 732-545-6220 on any Friday (during normal business hours) or on a Saturday or Sunday morning (between 7:00am and 7:30am). If space is available at one of the times noted above, we will schedule you in for a Riding Lesson at that time. The fee is $65- for the private one-on-one hour lesson. (Depending on the time of year, there may be other time opportunities that we would offer Riding Lessons)

Once the student reaches age 10+, then he/she will be eligible for Riding Lesson package discounts.
Remember, Riding Lessons are scheduled so you must call for an appointment.
